The shopping centre business has a fantastic future if we adapt to the profound changes in shopper behaviour driven by technology enabled connectivity. Shoppers now have access to more information online about brands, products and services than ever before. Whilst the shopping centre will be the primary way shoppers buy their merchandise for the foreseeable future, shoppers are increasingly looking online to plan and inform their shopping centre visit.
Our shoppers have an ability to absorb technology faster than most organizations and we are increasingly seeing customers move from outside of our organisations to inside in what many call social business design. Retail is now even more shopper centric, multi-channel, content rich, mobile enabled and social. Keeping connected to our shoppers and retailers, at a time of transformational change, has never been more important.
